Between land and sea
Sea getaways: just 15 minutes away
Craving sea air? The Vendée coast welcomes you. Just 12 km away, explore the wild beaches of Brétignolles-sur-Mer or Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. For complete freedom, we recommend Plage du Petit Pont or the Criques de la Sauzaie, true gems where dogs are welcome to run on the sand and enjoy the fresh sea breeze.
In Brétignolles-sur-Mer
Criques de la Sauzaie
North of Brétignolles-sur-Mer, near Plage de la Sauzaie, lie two small, little-known sandy coves. The site remains very well preserved. Accessible only at low tide, they are about a hundred meters apart, with the northernmost cove being the largest. Between sand and rocks, the scenery contrasts with the other beaches of Brétignolles. A spot appreciated by those seeking peace and a few anglers. Dogs are allowed on a leash, but swimming is prohibited.
Plage du Petit Pont
Plage du Petit Pont is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vendée. Located between Brétignolles-sur-Mer and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, continuing from the Grande Plage, it offers a completely wild setting with extensive dunes. Sparsely visited and left in its natural state, there are no nearby buildings. Its vast expanse makes it easy to find space, even in high summer. Note: swimming is not supervised. Leashed dogs are allowed, but they cannot swim.
In Les Sables-d'Olonne
Plage des Granges
Located about twenty minutes from the very busy Grande Plage Les Sables-d'Olonne, Plage des Granges offers a vast, wilder sandy stretch, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the calm of the ocean. It charms with its natural setting, preserved dunes, and authentic atmosphere, ideal for long walks with your feet in the water. Dogs are welcome year-round on a leash and may swim outside the supervised area. Enjoy wide-open spaces, Atlantic sunsets, and peaceful moments.
Plage de Sauveterre
Nestled in the heart of the state forest, Plage de Sauveterre offers an even wilder, untouched setting where nature reigns supreme. Fringed by dunes and accessible via pretty forest paths, it delights with its calming atmosphere, perfect for recharging, taking long walks along the water, or simply enjoying the sound of the waves away from the crowds. Dogs are welcome year-round on a leash and may swim outside the supervised area. An ideal place to share moments of freedom with your companion in an exceptional natural environment.
